David Batchelor
David Batchelor es un artista y escritor residente en Londres y nacido en Escocia en 1955. Estudió Bellas Artes en Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham (1975-78), y Teoría Cultural en Birmingham University (1978-80).
Su trabajo abarca estructuras tridimensionales, fotografías, pinturas y dibujos, en el que trata sobre todo su interés en el color y el urbanismo.
Su obra ha sido expuesta ampliamente en Gran Bretaña, Europa y América, algunas de sus exposiciones han sido en Flatlands, Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh/Spike Island, Bristol
(2013/14); Chromophilia: 1995-2010, Paço Imperial, Rio de Janeiro (2010); Color Chart,
Museum of Modern Art, New York (2008) y Tate Liverpool (2009); Extreme

En enero de 2015 Batchelor presentó Monochrome Archive 1997-2015, una instalación de gran formato en Whitechapel Gallery, Londres, como parte de su exposición
Adventures of the Black Square: Abstract Art and Society 1915-2015.
Chromophobia, Batchelor’s book on colour and the fear of colour in the West, Son dos de sus publicaciones acerca de sus estudios sobre el arte y el color.
